Minor in Community Health

Many professions in the health arena draw from practices learned from community health and public health. From prevention of chronic diseases to promotion of positive health behaviors, the Community Health Minor examines the issues facing communities today. The mission of community health at its core is to improve the health of the individual and the community at large.

The Community Health Minor is a good compliment to many majors including Health and Science Communication, Nutrition, Exercise Science, Disaster Science and Emergency Management and those seeking to further their education in the healthcare fields.

The Community Health Minor entails two required foundational classes followed by four elective courses. The elective courses allow students to emphasize in an area that will support their intended career path.
